I am sharing a poem I wrote a few days ago. I am going through a journey of recovery. The Lord gave me this poem. I am not a poet. And will admit this probably needs some help. However, it is from my heart.
Innocence
She loved Cocoons’ and butterflies
Pussy Willows, fire flies
She loved bull frogs and lily pads
Rainbows and clouds in the sky
But daddy made her cry
He took her innocence
He made her cry
She loved thunder and lightening
But daddy was frightening
He took her innocence
He made her cry
She loved Lilacs
Jumping rope and playing jacks
But daddy made her cry
She became Me
I love Cocoons and butterflies
Rainbows and clouds in the sky
I love thunder and lightening
But no longer frightened
Now Heavenly daddy
Brushes His finger across my cheek
Gently He wipes my tears
My child He speaks
Do not be frightened
Gently He wipes my tears
I love Heavenly daddy
He doesn’t make me cry
He brushes his finger across my cheek
Hush hush now my child he speaks
Gently He wipes my tears
